SeceuroGlide Roller Garage Door with Vision Slats Secures a New Build Property in Gloucester

The owner of this smart looking property in Gloucester initially made contact with us to see if we could offer a high security garage door that would save space on the driveway whilst having the facility to allow natural light to enter into the garage. Furthermore they also had a number of other requests which we have detailed below.

Client Brief

  • The door should be capable of providing a high level of security as an internal door within the garage leads directly into the house.
  • The preferred colour choice is RAL6009 (Fir Green).
  • Electric operation with remote control is a must.
  • Windows of some kind must be available as an option.
  • A bedroom is located above the garage therefore a door with some kind of thermal insulation would beneficial.
  • As the property only has a short driveway a vertical lift design would make parking and accessing the garage easier.

    • Solution

    Once we had a full understanding of the customer requirements our initial thoughts were to recommend an insulated sectional garage door with integral windows as this seemed to fit the bill perfectly however due to the fact that this type of door sits horizontally in the roof space of the garage we quickly dismissed this as an option as it would restrict storage space somewhat.

    As an alternative we suggested the customer consider one of our insulated roller doors with the addition of vision slats. At first the customer was a little unsure of how this would look however after providing them with examples of how the door would look they were keen to pursue this idea further and having been shown the various options available on the market were very keen to go with the SeceuroGlide Classic as it offers a higher level of security than many other models and is extremely reliable.

  • SeceuroGlide Classic Insulated Roller Door
  • Electric opening with remote control (bi directional remotes were specified as this allows you to check if the door is open without having line of sight of the garage door.)
  • Complete with wall mounted internal control box, courtesy light and up, down and stop buttons for convenient operation even without having a remote control to hand.
  • Wireless bottom slat safety edge (required in order to comply with current legislation)
  • Colour: Fir Green (RAL6009)
  • No internal box (this was not required and is normally only fitted for cosmetic purposes)
  • 4 x rows of glazed vision slats in the top section of the door

    • Installation

    Despite the fact that Roller Doors Ltd sells garage doors on a “supply only” basis on this occasion as the customer was looking to have the door professionally installed we were able to enlist the help of Duratec Security Solutions as they are able to offer an nationwide fitting service and having worked with them before on other projects had no hesitation in recommending their services and as always completed the installation in a timely and professional manner.
